persOn vs. Person
The conflict person vs. person is about the dwarves against Smaug. Smaug took the city from them and now the dwarves have vowed to get it back no matter what. Person Vs. Person is the most major conflict in this because it is an example of the biggest problem, getting there city back. It seems wrong because most of the time the conflict revolves around the main character but in this case it revolves around the whole group against Smaug. The biggest example of this is when they are fighting Smaug. Other then Smaug there are other things they have to get past which are an example of person vs. person. For example when they have to get a ride with bard they get a ride to the water city but they have to sneak in past the governor. Another example is when there on the hidden path they get caught by the elves and caught. One more example is right after they get caught by the elves when they escape and they are attacked by the orcs. The orcs always show a good example of this because they are always against each other.
perSon vs. selF
Bilbo is against himself. In the book he has to find himself. He has to find bravery deep down. He has to mix heritages with the dwarves. He has to find out how he is and how he will react and dominate the quest.
